The language for an instant must have been as ordered as the succession of stars / that twilight draws every evening out of the forests & over violet ridges.... I have thought toil could succeed in their realignment / or a line crafted after a succession of stars must radiate the letters / and the consonants who instruct would gather in an ordered constellation. / I have sought throughout the succession of letters / but there is not one so radiant as the line of stars / that twilight draws out of the forest.

Submission Guidelines

We welcome electronic submissions from writers, artists, composers and other media artists who are serious about their work. If we think your work is right for us, we'll contact you. If not, you may not hear from us. (We have a small staff, and you already know what we would say. If not...). Unfortunately, we cannot pay contributors at this time. In the future, as we earn credibility, we hope to apply for grants in order to support honoraria for contributors.

______________________

Fiction
We accept literary short stories, short literary novels and excerpts, hypertext fiction, one-act and full-length plays, hyperdrama, and short and feature screenplays. No popular genre fiction. Most electronic submissions can be attached .doc or .rtf files. Screenplays and plays should be .rtf files to retain format. For hypertext fiction and hyperdrama, attach a zip or stuffit file containing all relevant htm/html files. Make sure the manuscript "runs" when all files are extracted into a single directory.
Email submissions of short stories and longer fiction to ficted(at)gmail.com (Joshua Weber).
Email submissions of plays, screenplays and hypertext to charles(at)oregonliteraryreview.org (Charles Deemer).
(Note to screenwriters.)

Creative Nonfiction
We accept personal and literary essays, narrative nonfiction, memoirs, and other reflective prose. Electronic submission only as attached .doc or .rtf file, except for hypertext. For hypertext, follow instructions for hypertext fiction.
Email essays and traditional prose submissions, as well as hypertext, digital literary art and experimental work, to eve_nonfiction(at)yahoo.com (Evelyn Sharenov).

Poetry
The poetry section is organized around special projects created by the poetry editor. Submissions by invitation only.

Art
We accept .jpg, .gif and .tiff files of drawings, paintings, photography and other visual art work. Essays on art also considered. Send as attachment to email.
Art submissions go to amelia693(at)msn.com (Harriet Levi).

Music
We accept .doc, .rtf and .pdf musical scores and midi and mp3 audio files. Video performance files also considered as well as essays on musical topics.
Music submissions go to neoimpressionist(at)hotmail.com (John D. Nugent).

For other hypermedia projects, query charles(at)oregonliteraryreview.org (Charles Deemer).
