Guilherme Schroeter
NOCTURNE IN C MINOR
Op. 91 No 1 12

GUILHERME SCHROETER returns to the Oregon Literary Review this issue with this lovely Nocturne. It is simple in its form and, although it sounds difficult on the recording, it seems to be of an intermediate level for performance.

It is built around the piano's harmonic timbre and a compositional technique known as hemiola, almost like a piano piece by Brahms. However, this piece stands on its own as pure Schroeter.

The performance is a live video feed. Schroeter performs the piece himself.
