EXT. CONVIENCE
MARKET-NIGHT
A single recent
model car parked in front.
A second, beat-up
car pulls up.
INT. CAR-NIGHT
SCOTTY, 20s, behind
the wheel, leaves the engine running. Beside him is JOEY, 20s.
SCOTTY
You
ready?
JOEY
Oh yeah…
Scotty reaches in
front of Joey to open the glove compartment.
SCOTTY
There it is.
Joey reaches in and
takes out a small pistol.
INT. CONVIENCE
MARKET-NIGHT
Pulling on ski
masks over their heads, they rush inside and straight up to the cash register.
Joey points the gun
directly at the clerk's head.
JOEY
This is a robbery! Give me everything you
got in that cash register!
SCOTTY
Yea! In the safe too, and make it snappy!
The
CLERK, male, starts piling the money from the cash register in the bag.
A WOMAN in the
aisle looks up shocked.
WOMAN
Joey?!
Scotty?! What in the hell do you think you boys are doing?
JOEY
Ma?! What are you doing here?
WOMAN
Answer
my question … just what the hell do you boys think you're doing here? Scotty tell your brother to put that gun down. I can't believe you
two … is that my gun?
SCOTTY
Awww, come on ma! You’re
undermining our command on the situation here!
WOMAN
Boy,
you better watch yourself! You two are coming home with me right this instant.
Joey grabs the bag
of money off the counter.
WOMAN
You
give that man his money back right now. Don't you think for a second that I
didn't see that.
JOEY
Awww, ma!
The woman goes to
the door and holds it open for Joey. She points to the car.
WOMAN
Get
in the car! Both of you!
INT. CAR-NIGHT
Joey and woman sit
in the front seat. Scotty sits in back.
There is a Virgin
Mary figurine on the dashboard and a cross hanging from the rear view mirror.
WOMAN
What
the hell, you two?
JOEY
Aww ma, we just wanted to feel the rush, be badass.
WOMAN
Badass? You both live with your mother and you're unemployed. Psh…badass!
SCOTTY
Brilliant
idea Joey!
JOEY
How
was I supposed to know ma would be in there?
SCOTTY
I
don’t know we should’ve robbed Mickey C’s strip club or something. She wouldn’t
have been in there.
WOMAN
Well
you got that right!
Woman gestures the
sign of the cross.
